TXC established ISO14001 system in 2002, and through the system standards, we strengthen our management capacities for continuous improvement of environmental performance, effectiveness, and properly maintaining overall operations. All corporate activities comply with governmental regulations and other applicable international requirements for pollution prevention control, while we have obtained the legally required "stationary pollution source operating permits," "water pollution control permit," "industrial waste disposal plan" approval and "toxic chemical substances operational permit," etc., ensuring implementation of permit provisions through periodic point inspection, maintenance, reporting and testing. The total amounts of various fixed pollutants discharge of the company are lower than the control standard (0.289 metric tons/year for total ammonia discharge, 0.096 metric tons/year for total nitric acid discharge, and 5.08 metric tons/year for total volatile organic matters discharge). Our Pingchen plant began implementing the ISO 14001 management system since 2002, deploying planning / implementation / audit / review (PDCA planning doing compliance assessment) management system principles, regularly reviewing and systematically assessing the organization's activities / products / services processes, ensuring effective management of raw materials, processes , energy resources, waste, resource recycling and other activities, to identify their derivative environmental impacts, and elucidate opportunities for improvements thereby fulfilling our stewardship duties for social responsibility and achieving our goals for sustainable development.


Establishment of Energy Management System

Inventory conducted in 2010 on greenhouse gas and product carbon footprint, but only the equivalence of carbon dioxide emission understood and the result of inventory found out to be 97.63% of power compared to emission. Since only inventory figures are obtained but no practical actions taken, therefore it is necessary to build an energy management system to truly achieve genuine energy conservation.


Since introduction of ISO 50001 management system (see Figure below) to Pingzhen plant in 2011, improvement measures have been worked out for improvement year by year basing on actual power use details obtained from review and evaluation in accordance with the principle of Plan/Do/Check/Action (PDCA) management system. This is to effectively achieve the purpose of energy conservation and carbon reduction.

Responding to the trends towards international green product requirements and greenhouse gas emissions reductions, since 2006 we have become a SONY Green partner and since 2007 have complied with Samsung ECO-Partner standards for environmentally friendly relationship commitments and confirmation processes, achieving IECQ/QC080000 certification in 2008, observing full compliance with the EU ROHS, EUP environmental directives, the establishment of raw materials and incoming materiel inspection systems, etc. Since early 2010, we have begun our GHG inventory (ISO14064-1) and product carbon footprint (PAS2050) programs, launching our Energy Management System (ISO50001) in 2011, further fulfilling our social responsibility and contributing to achieving our goals of sustainable development.

All plant pollution prevention and treatment equipment have dedicated teams responsible for maintenance and operations, with a complete written set of management, operational and maintenance procedures to guide implementation ensuring the pollution control equipment can achieve optimal effectiveness. Water pollution control measures: After pre-treatment process, wastewater generated by the procedure is then discharged via sewer to the wastewater treatment station in Ping Cheng to undergo unified treatment. After processing, then relesing to the Tai Hang lack Creek of Taoyuan County. Sludge are removed, transported and processed by qualified business owners.Quarterly water quality testing for wastewater discharge, ensuring test results meet applicable regulatory agency emission standards, with testing standards and results posted on our website ''Environmental Safety and Health Detection Chart'': txccorp.com/index.php?action=g_ESH_1&cid=7



Solid Waste Management

All factory waste control operations are conducted in accordance with our "TXC Solid Waste Management Guidelines" , with all waste sites complying with the appropriate regulations for segregated collection and storage, with accredited contractors providing regulatory agency authorized cleaning or re-utilization.

In addition, in response to concerns of pollution caused by slurry, and liquid pollution concerns, July 10, 2009 the corporation completed installation of water pollution control equipment, passing inspections and obtaining our water pollution control permit.
